Greenbank Pre School is located in the purpose-built nursery hall in Greenbank Church under the leadership of Manager Kyra Okoth. Our experienced staff are committed to quality provision for the individual child. There are 30 places available morning and afternoon with at least three staff and one parent helper on a rota system.
KYRA OKOTH – MANAGER/ HEADTEACHER
Kyra has been an Early Years Manager and Consultant for 15 years and has lived and worked in India, Qatar, Kenya and Spain as well as the UK. She has developed methodologies such as ‘Placing and Arranging’ and ‘Art and Literacy’. She is passionate about music, dance and drama.
JULIE FRENCH – DEPUTY MANAGER
Julie has worked with children for 27 years and has been with Greenbank since 2001. She coordinates Numeracy, Admissions and Additional Support Needs. The rewards gained from working with children are a constant inspiration to her.
AHN UHM – EARLY YEARS PRACTITIONER
Ahn has been working with children for over 20 years. She has worked in Korea, Singapore and the UK. She has been at Greenbank since 2014 and plays a very proactive role as ECO coordinator in our Green Flag Pre School.
DEBI ALLAN – EARLY YEARS PRACTITIONER
Debi has worked with children since leaving school and joined Greenbank in 2008. She enjoys sharing her creativity with children.
BETH CLEARWATER – EARLY YEARS PRACTITIONER AND TEACHER
Beth gained her teaching degree in NZ 10 years ago. She has taught in various schools around the world. She has a particular passion for books and reading. She has supported the children to develop a love of language and story.
KATHERINE TUNNAH – SUPPLY EARLY YEARS PRACTITIONER
I qualified as a PE teacher in 2005. I worked in London before moving to Edinburgh in 2009. My three children have all attended Greenbank and loved it. I am really looking forward to giving the children at pre school opportunities to be physically active through the Early Moves Programme.
NICOLA ROACHE – EARLY YEARS PRACTITIONER
I attended Stevenson College and gained my NC and HNC Certificate in Childcare and Education in 1995. I started off working in a private nursery, then became a nanny for 15 years before having my daughter in 2010 and being a full time mum. My daughter attended Greenbank. I have worked at the pre school since 2013 as a supply teacher. I love to see how the children grow and flourish in their time here.
Children can enjoy playing and learning with friends in bright modern airy accommodation with an all-weather surfaced garden. At Greenbank we offer a nutritious snack and believe in promoting a healthy and positive outlook.
