History

In the 1970s Greenbank Church opened a playgroup in one of its halls in response to the growing need for such facilities in the area. In 1999 the playgroup went into partnership with The City of Edinburgh and 2003 it changed its name to Greenbank Pre School. The Kirk Session of Greenbank Church is responsible for the safe running of Pre School, and the Management Committee is made up of four church members and three parents, with the minister as Honorary Chair. The children, staff and families have special services in the church to celebrate Harvest, Christmas and Easter.

Our Care Inspection reports can be found by visiting the Care Inspectorate Scotland website.

Children can gain a funded place from the term following their third birthday. We have two large adjoining open plan rooms and two garden areas. Each child has a key worker who is responsible for keeping an accurate developmental profile of your child. The profiles are shared with parents and are a compilation of observations made across all curricular areas.

We are a non profit, non denominational funded partner service.
