We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Early Years Assistant with experience working with children with additional support needs to assist in supporting a child in this thriving preschool provision based in Greenbank Church Centenary Hall. Greenbank Pre School is a funded partner with the City of Edinburgh Council offering 1140 hours of Early Learning and Child Care as part of the Scottish Government’s expansion. Pre School is open between 8.25 am and 3.30 pm during school terms. The successful candidate will be expected to work 17.5 hours per week, from 12 noon to 15.30 Monday-Friday, during school terms, for the school year 15 August 2022 to 18 June 2023
You must be passionate about working with children, have knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence, GIRFEC and Realising the Ambition and be skilled in working with children with additional support needs. You must be able to communicate effectively with children, colleagues, parents and other agencies. You will be working with a qualified teacher and a team of Early Years Practitioners and Lunchtime Assistants providing quality education for 3-5 year olds. Registration with Scottish Social Services Council is a requirement.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
